Meet the Employer - Amazon
1) What is a typical day in the life of a amazon warehouse employee?
2) What roles is Amazon currently looking to fill, and what does an ideal candidate look like?
3) How has Covid-19 affected the Amazon fulfilment team? What is Amazon is doing to ensure staff safety?
In-TAC is pleased to invite staffing specialists of Amazon: Ally Clouthier and Farrukh Dareshani, to walk us through their current openings and how to join the Amazon fulfilment team.
Amazon Fulfillment began in 1994 in Jeff Bezo’s garage. The mission of the company was and still is to create a place where people could find and discover virtually anything they wanted to buy online. The vision that we’ve maintained is to be Earth’s most Customer-Centric company. Amazon has 14 leadership principles which we use every day and our most important one is “Customer Obsession.” Amazon.ca launched in 2002 and our first Canadian Fulfillment Centre launched in Mississauga in 2011. We now have 9 fulfillment centers across Canada with many more opening this year and in the next coming years. Our site in Ottawa launched in 2019 and our newest site is YUL2 which is in Montreal and it is currently in its launch phase.
About the speakers:
After many years in the retail industry and after completing my Bachelor’s degree from Carleton University in Music, I was fortunate enough to join Amazon’s Workforce Staffing Team of Ottawa in 2019. Outside of work, I love to travel, go to the gym, cook, make music and be outdoors.
I'm a Staffing Coordinator here at Amazon. I have a passion for people and I'm fortunate to be engaged with high energy teams to fulfill hiring needs at our Fulfillment Centers. I graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelors of Commerce and later completed a French studies program at Queen's. I have strong interests in photography, travel, and fitness, and I am always looking forward to new adventures.
